Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
Have you ever seen a little girl sitting in her father’s lap while the parent read to her, told her a story, or simply talked to her? I can recall such scenes, and I can see the child gazing up at her father, watching his lips move, his eyes sparkling with love for her, and his entire face beaming at the marvel of her. The look on the child’s face is one of wonder and delight. This is how God wants us to look at Him.
He longs to see our faces beaming as we gaze up at Him, wondering how we could come to be so close to such an awesome Father. How is it we could be born into a family He is head of, a family comprised of so many brothers and sisters we cannot hope to count them. How did we get to be so lucky as this. That is the delight God wants us to have for Him.
The little girl’s father would do anything for his child; he’d give her the moon and stars if they were his to give. And likewise, our heavenly Father wants to give us all things good. He wants to give us hope and peace and love. All he wants in return is for us to love Him—to delight in Him.

I love it when these pictures come into my mind. When they do, I feel the love of God in a way I cannot adequately describe.
Thank you, Faye!
