Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” Matthew 26:36
In a few days, as I begin this endeavor of writing daily encouragements for another year—in hopes of encouraging both you and me—I do so with trust in God, believing the words I write will come from Him. I am not a preacher, teacher, or theologian, and therefore it should be easy to allow myself to be led by God’s Spirit as I read His word and share what it says to me, with my family, friends, and all who’d like to join us.
I encourage you to join me each morning, or whatever time of day is best for you, to read a verse from the Bible, and contemplate on the simple things I say about the verse I’ve chosen for that day. I may occasionally have something profound to say, but in most cases what I have to say will be very simple and easy to understand.
I’m just an ordinary guy, and I have not set out to change the way you believe, or to save your soul, I merely offer my simple words in hopes they will encourage you. The rest is between you and God.
