Today, I’m Only Using Part of My Brain ~ July 14

Today, I’m Only Using Part of My Brain

Okay… I heard those wisecracks!

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 1Corinthians 13:11

I am still a child in the sense that when it comes to knowing God and the things of God, I have very little knowledge. I’ve heard it said man uses only a fraction of the brain power he possesses; when it comes to God, and knowing Him and His ways, I believe the percentage is even less.

Through the writing of these encouragements, I know much more about God today than I did a few years ago, but I still feel I have barely scratched the surface. I’ve come to the conclusion that when I at last see God and heaven, and all things are revealed to me, I will be astounded at the reality and enormity of God. I also feel I will be amazed at the sheer simplicity of Him.

In the meantime, I will continue to seek His knowledge and open my heart and mind to receive it. I’ve found the more I seek, the more He gives, and the more He gives, the more I understand. It’s kind of like turning a dimmer switch up on a room filled with beautiful things; the more you turn the knob, the brighter it gets and the more beautiful are the things within.
