Think About the Good Stuff
You can’t go wrong!
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Philippians 4:8
This is what I’ve been saying and what I believe; if we concentrate on God and all He is, we cannot fail. If we keep our eyes, hearts, and minds on Him, we will overcome any challenges and not only survive them, but thrive in spite of them.
I also believe truth is not by accident the first of the Godly things listed that we should think upon. I believe truth to be one of God’s basic ingredients. Love is the ultimate, but I don’t think love can exist if it is not based on truth. If we deal with God or those we love, and do so outside the boundaries of what is true, we do nothing; love is not there.
And to be noble? Webster defines noble as: possessing outstanding qualities. How can we possess a more outstanding quality than to focus upon and think upon the things of God, and therefore, become more like him?
I could write volumes on the things listed here, but I will sum them up in the simple way I began; think on the good things. Dwell on God and all the pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy things He has provided for us.
Think about such things. How can this possibly be wrong?
