Not Finishing is Not an Option!
We must finish the race!
Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4
Faith is perseverance—the conscious decision to never give up. No matter what challenges come, when we have faith, we determine to stay the course and finish the race. We know it will all be worth it in the end; it will all work to our good if we keep our eyes on God. Eternal life with Him is the prize, and not finishing, is not an option.
I haven’t mastered the “rejoice in our sufferings” aspect of God yet, but I’m getting closer all the time. I have to admit, too, I don’t suffer too much. I am blessed in so many ways, and it seems I am never in need of much. God takes excellent care of me!
When I do have my little spats with life in general, I’m learning to be more patient—to persevere—and allow God to take care of things. That’s not to say we shouldn’t do our best, but we should maintain our peace and confidence while in the middle of whatever storm we might find ourselves. When we truly grasp the fact that God is with us and will see us through every situation, our character and hope will grow stronger, and we will rejoice as we go through life’s trials and troubles.
Persevere! God’s got your back!
