Charles is in Charge!
Ask me how that’s working out!
But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
When we love God and make loving Him our first priority, His Holy Spirit—which seems to me to be love itself—resides in us and is a seed that bears fruit.
When we love God, we are transformed by His love and His love dwells within us, eventually controlling our every thought and action, causing us to bear fruit without consciously thinking to do it. When we are operating outside of God’s love and are merely doing things because we think He requires us to do them, those actions are not of the Spirit and are called works. They mean nothing and usually accomplish little.
Too many times, we decide we are in charge, and we know what is best. We get caught up in doing what we think God wants us to do, instead of just simply loving Him and letting His Spirit lead us. I am convinced that to be able to bear the fruits of the Spirit, we mustn’t seek to produce them. When we love God, we will exude love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. When God’s love dwells within us, we no longer have to try to love; we are love, and we produce love. We bear fruit.
