Are we there yet? When it comes to inner peace, few of us can answer yes to this question. But, to me, peace is the ultimate goal, for once we are able to grasp the concept of faith and trust, nothing can keep us from knowing happiness. No, I may not be there yet, but I am moving toward it, and it will be mine!
Peace
If we found the oh so elusive peace
What then would we search for
Another thing, another place
Or just another open door
We spend our whole lives searching
For truth and find but lies
Sorrow nipping at our heels
Our faces turned to the skies
Hanging tight to faith and hope
We live but day to day
Crying out to Lord unseen
Begging… please show the way
Tis in our heart this peace
Our comfort comes from above
He asks naught from us and yet
Gives us unconditional love
Perhaps it is in the searching
That with our God we be as one
For should the prize be in our hand
Would not our work be done

We spend our whole lives searching
For truth and find but lies…dang tight lines that man…and so true when all we seek is an external peace…because that will keep us searching forever…

I look around today, and realize the truth is no longer important.

Charles, you have made some good points. I do think perhaps we may never find peace as we continue to look for it, but if we had nothing to search for you are right….what then? Man’s life is a quest for the ‘peace that passes all understanding’ which we can glimpse sometime along our way…..

I think we have to enjoy the search, Mary. Thanks for the visit and comment!

It is a sad sad state our world is in.

True, Len, but God is still in control, and everything works out in the end. (I know! I’ve read the book!)

Oh how I know I too have read that book and my favorite chapter is the last Revelation…

..I think we don’t find peace… we create it…then we let it grow and multiply…from pieces to pieces, bigger & bigger…wider & farther…until we reach and achieve that perpetual peace within ourselves…smiles…

Some very good observations, Kelvin. Thanks for sharing them!

He is unchanging, loves us unconditionally but I believe He does “ask” of us. Part of being called is to be in a realtionship with Him.
NIcely rendered.

Charles, This is beautiful and thought provoking. My favorite lines:
He asks naught from us and yet
Gives us unconditional love
How can this be? Yet I know it is and that He, the Prince of Peace, is where we will finally find what we spend our lives searching for. Peace, Linda

Thought provoking and profound. We search so hard for peace, only to find it given as a gift from above.

Thanks for the great comment, Tony!

This reads like a classic plea to God, for answers, for meaning. Classic.
