The Highway of Hope
A road with no end
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4
I can really relate to this verse in the sense that I believe everything in the Bible has meaning and purpose. I don’t understand everything in the Bible, and I might never fully understand all that is in it, but you never know, someday I might. God reveals more and more to me as I get closer to Him, so maybe one day a giant light bulb will appear above my head, and I will understand all there is to know about God and His word.
I like to keep things simple so I can understand them, and it seems like the line defining simple keeps moving. Things that seemed unclear or didn’t make sense to me in the past suddenly seem simple. I contribute this to God opening my eyes and ears to His word, but doing so in His time, when He knows I am ready and able to comprehend it.
As God reveals things to us, we will see the things of this world become less and less important, and the things of His kingdom become more and more meaningful. We will start to see our lives and the world around us as a highway of hope that leads to peace on this earth and everlasting joy with Him when our time here is done.
