For her Free Write Friday today, Kellie Elmore suggests we write about a time when we were “up the creek without a paddle”. She remembers the saying a bit differently–I reckon it’s a Tennessee thang 
–but I think you all know what we mean.

Thankfully, I’ve never heard those words from the other side of my front door. I was, however, visited by an officer of the law yesterday. He rang the bell and waited patiently for me to answer. Then! Four of them pounced on me, cuffed me and dragged me, kicking and screaming, to the van parked at the curb! Read the rest of this entry »

For her Free Write Friday today, Kellie Elmore suggests we write about a time when we were “up the proverbial creek without a paddle”. Okay, first get a good laugh while you look at yours truly back when I used to work for Shakey’s Pizza then I have another Wes story for you!
This would have been in about 1975 or 1976, and if you look real close, you can see a white building in the background, with a black door. That was a condo we lived in when I worked at the Shakey’s on Grand Avenue in Glendale, Arizona. Pretty convenient if I say so myself. Read the rest of this entry »
