Daily Encouragement – 7/22

July 22

The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He awakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught. Isaiah 50:4

            That’s what I’m talking about!

After writing what I’d written in yesterday’s encouragement, then turning to this next verse in my list, I was—to put it mildly—stunned!

Though those who read this may not be weary, and I hope you are not but some may be. From time to time, all of us grow weary from the constant struggles and battles we encounter in our lives. I have taken the assignment of encouraging you when weariness overcomes you, and when I read God’s word then write about it, I do so not to just teach, but also to learn. I write to encourage, and do not in any way claim any expertise as pertains to the Bible or God.

I mentioned in yesterday’s writing that I love my morning time with God, and I also mentioned that I awake early most mornings, excited about what the day might hold. When I saw this verse this morning, I almost jumped for joy. The part where it says, He awakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen, put a big smile on my face! I don’t just wake up early, God awakens me each morning and awakens my ears to listen to Him.

I never remember in all my years reading that verse and I like you am excited about it and can now say when I wake up, thank you Lord for waking me up and waking my ears up to listen.

I did not say your comment is awaiting moderation, where did that come from?

    • It says that because your comment won’t be seen on my blog unless I approve it. That keeps the nutjobs from making nasty comments. It should always say that after you submit a comment.
