I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 8-29-11

Just so y’all don’t get the wrong idea, Mom wanted me to be sure and tell you she is not perfect! In fact, she said she thinks I make up a lot of the stuff I write about her. Well, that ain’t so, but I might embellish the stories a bit every now and then. But hey! That’s what writers do, ain’t it? Make stuff up!

Seriously, though, Mom is a humble person, and it kind of embarrasses her when I go bragging about how great she is. She said to tell y’all she’s made lots of mistakes along the way, and it’s only by the grace and goodness of God she’s turned out to be the person she is.

That’s kind of how it is with all of us. Left to our own devices, we’d probably make a pretty good mess of things, but God keeps nudging us in the right direction and somewhere along the way, we seem to figure out what’s going on.

If you have a great mom, don’t wait until Mother’s Day, her birthday, or some other occasion to tell her how much you appreciate and love her. Do it right away, and often!

(You’re the best, Mom!)

And for those of you who may not be aware . . . that’s Charlie’s mom on the cover of “Be Still”. Isn’t she beautiful?
