Daily Encouragement ~ 8/31

August 31

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him.   1 John 4:9

Nothing we do will cause God to love us any more than He does. His love is the ultimate love, and He showed it when, knowing we could never gain salvation on our own, He sent Jesus to cover our sins. If we will be still and contemplate the extent of God’s love for us for just a few moments at the beginning of each day, I believe proceeding into the day will become much easier.

Life can be hard. I have days when my first thoughts are of the challenges I must face and what I must do to get through the day. In many cases, I catch myself before I get too far into the day with that mindset and simply begin again. My thinking is if I begin my day with the negative thoughts, my day will continue to go badly. But if I change my thinking and go into the day knowing there are no problems I cannot conquer with God’s help, my day starts and continues in a positive way.

One thing I try to remember when life gets me down is that a day spent unhappy is a day I will never get back. I also believe happiness, or unhappiness, is not an emotion, but a choice. A choice we make each and every minute we live. That said; why would I choose to be unhappy?

            God loves you!

Choose to be happy. Seems like a no-brainer to me!

Okay I can do that, especially since it’s a no brainer. This should be put on the fridge and read every day.
