I’m Your Huckleberry ~ 9-10-11

Years ago, I remember folks talking about subliminal messages on television. I think they were actually happening, but I don’t know that for certain. The idea was that an advertiser would flash a message or image on the screen for a split second—one we did not even know we had seen—and we would react by wanting to purchase the product that had been flashed into our subconscious.

Sadly, they have moved well beyond subliminal tactics, and now blatantly advertise, and display in programs, every possible deviance and product. It seems to have grown increasingly worse, as it now appears nothing is taboo. Sex, violence, and decadence of every kind is on almost every channel. Even sadder than the fact that all of this is brazenly displayed, is the fact we are becoming numb to the worst of human behavior and indulgence. My solution: don’t watch. As time goes on, I find I am watching less and less television.
