Daily Encouragement ~ 11/28

Those who work with combed flax will despair, the weavers of fine linen will lose hope. Isaiah 19:9

The nineteenth chapter of Isaiah is a prophecy about Egypt. It tells about all the bad things that will happen to Egypt, but ends with Egypt being blessed by God. I found it interesting that what was prophesied to happen in Egypt compares to what is going on in our country today. That could be construed as a bad thing, but if you focus on the end result—God’s blessing—it can be a very good thing.

This particular verse refers to the upper class workers that were used to making good money by manufacturing fine garments and expensive nets. The prophesy indicates their business would not be good and perhaps they would lose their jobs. They would go from living a relatively good lifestyle to just getting by, or worse. Sound familiar?

But the lesson here is that no matter what we go through, we must continue to love God and trust that He will see us through these tough times. In the end, we will be blessed if we put our faith and hope in Him.

I believe that, and I also believe if we continue to love God, do the best we can every day, and trust in Him, we will do more than just survive in these tough times; we will thrive!
