Daily Encouragement ~ 1/24

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

This one is a no-brainer to me; it goes back to what I said yesterday, and I don’t think it’s an accident that Jesus dwelt on it heavily. I believe we all have a part to play in God’s plan for the world and hereafter, and it’s important that we play our part boldly.

Some of us will write, some will preach, some will go out to save souls; but many will simply allow their light to shine. Your light can shine in so many ways. Oftentimes I hear people complain that they have nothing to offer, and they wonder what part it is they play in God’s plan. I contend that sometimes it is simply something we say or do at just the right time and place.

We never know when a smile, a look, a touch, a word of encouragement, might be the catalyst that sets off a chain of events that can literally change lives and even the world. Sometimes a person’s light is simply the fact they are always smiling. Their smile lights other candles everywhere they go, and it grows from there.

It’s really very simple. Whatever you have to offer, give it. A smile, a look, a touch; if it comes from a heart filled with God’s love, it glorifies Him!

This is so awesome Charles and so true. I’ve had people tell me that when they needed a word of encouragement or something to make them feel better someone has smiled at them or told them, “Jesus loves you,” and that made a huge difference to them.
So often we can’t see that we’re making a huge difference or any difference at all and it’s wonderful to be able to tell someone who thinks like this, that their smile, their helping hand, the pats on the back they gave someone showed that person Jesus’ light shining so brightly.
    Blessings my friend!

    • Yes ma’am! I used to worry about all the times I left bad messages (far too many times) but the moe I understand about God and His love, the less I worry about those times gone by. I’m getting more confident these days that I’m leaving a good impression where ever I go. I’m not perfect–far from it–but I like to think I’m getting better every day! Well… most days.
