Daily Encouragement ~ 2/14

Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Matthew 6:30

As my love for God grows and I understand more about Him, I’ve begun to focus more on “now”. In the past, I spent a lot of time thinking about the past, and worrying about the future. My mantra these days is, today is really all that matters. In fact I’ve come to the point where what’s happening right now is all that matters.

The past is done and there’s nothing we can do about it—except repent if need be—and the future is undetermined. We could argue those points, and I’m sure some folks would have much to say about them, but me, I like to keep things simple; and simple, to me, means dealing with right now and doing the best I can. What I do today might affect the way tomorrow goes, but my main concern is how it will affect things right now.

The things we did in the past have brought us to where we are at this very moment and this day, and this moment and day are all that matter. I think we need to live each day as if it is our last one, comfortable in the thought that if Jesus comes, we’re ready.

YES! How many joys have I missed because I was not in the moment? I,too, spent time regrettign the past and fearful of the future. No more!! I placed everything in His hands, and now I rejoice in today and savor every moment. How liberating!!

Thanks for sharing this encouragement Charles! I love the last words of yours that we’re ready if Jesus comes. Praise God for His unfailing love to us 🙂

Thank you for your prayers! (regarding my post about the earthquaker) We are safe and sound in God’s arm here in Cebu. Though we are saddened by the continous havoc it brought to our sister city (Gihulngan, Negros), we are constantly watching and praying to God that our fellow countrymen will find to call on the true God here in my country. Thank you also for always supporting me here. God bless you! 🙂

    • I’m so glad to hear from you, and know that you are safe and well, Joyce. We do support you, and join you in your prayers for your fellow countrymen.
And, He will come–soon it appears–and we will be ready for Him.
