Lakeside in the Morning

Several summers ago, Sherry and I spent a relaxing weekend at nearby Fayette Lake, and it was simply wonderful. I wrote the following poem on Saturday morning, and took the pictures throughout what proved to be an inspiring weekend. The shot of Maisy blurred a bit, and I wish I’d gotten a better one. Enjoy!

Lakeside in the Morning

Sitting here lakeside

     Enjoying a cool morning breeze

The waves of wind and boat

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Lapping softly at the shore

Birds chirruping happily

          A crow crying noisily

                    Dragonflies flitting about

Watching me watch them

The dog at the neighboring cabin

Wags her tail when I look her way

            Probably wondering why

I don’t walk over and say hello

Maisy stopped wagging her tail, and posed politely for me when I finally paid her a visit.

Awww, looks like a wonderful relaxing weekend.

    • It was very relaxing. We have another one planned the first weekend in June at a different place. Looking forward to it!
      Thanks for stopping by, Raivenne!
