This is Some Heavy Stuff! ~ May 29

This is Some Heavy Stuff!

But there’s a simple key to help us make sense of it all!

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

The book of John is full of some heavy stuff, and it can seem complicated, (here it comes) but most of it is really very simple. I think part of the complication is due to the various translations and interpretations we are presented with today. I have no idea when man started re-translating the Bible, but I remember when I first read one of the “new” translations. I thought it was awesome, because it was written in a way I could better understand. The King James translation is still sometimes hard to decipher, and I keep various translations handy, so I can see the different ways things are said.

All that said, the point is, the Word—the Bible—is God, and through it He imparts to us His knowledge and ways. I believe no matter what translation we read, God will make Himself clear to us. I know, from my own experience, the more I read the Bible, the more it makes sense to me. I think the key is to love God, and want to know Him. When we love Him, and make Him number one in our life, I believe He opens our hearts and minds to better understand Him.

Love Him. It only makes sense, and He will help you make sense of it all!

One of my favorite verses; John 1:1.
Have recently had to RE-begin starting every day in the quiet.
The brain does not want to do it, the heart requires it.
It must be a choice to rest, read and hear His voice.
    Thanks for the confirmation.

    • You are welcome! Morning is the best time of my day, because it’s just me and Him!
Thanks for the great comment, Deborah!
