A fellow poet and blogger posted a poem the other day that mentioned a shiny new button, and while commenting on it, I thought about my grandma’s jar of buttons. Sherry still has her grandmother’s beautiful button box, so I included a picture that shows it, as well as Sherry’s button jar. Anyway, the memory inspired the following poem. Enjoy! Reposting this one for dVerse Poets Pub’s “Poetics – Button, Button”. Read the rest of this entry »

Kelly Elmore gave us an interesting prompt for her Free Write Friday feature this week. It was simply a word; Empathy. Kellie Elmore does a Free Write Friday feature, where she provides a prompt and asks us to write a story or poem about it. The one this week is just to doggone easy, lending itself to an almost automatic Alice in Wonderland theme. The key word in that last sentence: almost. Enjoy! Read the rest of this entry »

Last Thursday, on dVerse Poets Pubs, “Meeting The Bar” , Victoria asked us to write something about “where” we are. I saw a poem someone else submitted, that made me think of this one, and I wished I’d used it. I think a lot of folks like the one I wrote Thursday, What Was I Thinking, however, so I made plans to use this one today, on dVerse Poet Pub’s Open Link Night #50. I hope you enjoy it!
