I’m Just The Pencil! ~ June 14

I’m Just The Pencil!

If I encourage you, I am encouraged, too!

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Corinthians 2:13

I often say, “I am just the pencil.” By this I mean what I write is based on what God says to me about the verses I write about. I don’t write these encouragements from a knowledgeable point of view, because the reality of the situation is I have little knowledge of God’s word and His principles. What I do have is a sincere desire to learn more about God, to love Him as much as is humanly possible, and to encourage others to love Him.”

That’s it. I’m not a teacher, preacher, Bible scholar, or theologian; I’m just an old redneck dude trying to get along in a world that seems to be getting crazier by the minute. I get discouraged just like everyone else, and that’s why writing these encouragements is such good therapy for me. When I focus on encouraging others, I am encouraged as well.

If things aren’t going the way you think they should be going in your life today, don’t be disheartened. God is still in charge, and He has a plan. Stay focused on Him and His love, love Him as best you know how, and keep on keeping on.

It is so liberating to know that God is in charge . . . no matter what is happening in my life . . . and that ALL things work to His good (and mine!)

Sometimes–more and more these days–it seems as though evil is winning. It’s not! God is still in charge, and His love will win in the end. Believe it!
