Rockin’ Robins! ~ October 30

Rockin’ Robins!

Singin’ a glorious song!

Shout with joy to God, all the earth! Sing the glory of his name; make his praise glorious! Psalm 66:1-2

In many of the Psalms, we are encouraged to shout and sing with joy to God. In verse two of the 66th Psalm, we are encouraged to sing of the glory of God’s name and praise Him gloriously. I note also that all the earth is encouraged to do this.

I have a vivid imagination, and when the writer talks about inanimate objects singing, dancing, clapping, etc., I have no problem imagining it to be actually happening. I can envision trees and mountains and wheat fields singing, clapping, and glorifying the Lord. Animals celebrate the beauty of spring as they romp in the meadows, and so do the birds as they flit happily through the bright blue skies.

Every morning when Sherry and I sit on the back deck and read our devotionals, we watch the birds and listen to them chitter and sing, as our resident squirrel scurries around in the big oak tree. It always seems they are excited about the new day.

I believe all the earth shouts with joy every day, and through each and every living thing and inanimate object, the glory of God’s name is sung, and His praise is glorious.
