I Am Not Love!
But I’m working on it!
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4
I don’t claim to possess the attributes described in this verse, but I desire to have them. I’m too often impatient with those I love, I sometimes envy those that have more things and knowledge than I have, and I’m not boastful as a rule, but on occasion I seek approval for what I am or what I have done.
Thank God for his patience with me and His love. Love so deep He sent His only son—the only man ever to walk this earth, having all the attributes described in this verse—to bring me grace; grace so complete I can be transformed into love that emulates Him.
We are but a pittance of what we can be, yet we have at our fingertips the option to be all we can be. We are all capable of the kind of love described in this verse, and it can be ours if we love God completely and release our lives totally to Him. A river runs between us and God, but all we have to do is put our hand in the hand of the Savior and walk across the water with Him. Then we will be one with God, and we will be all we can be. We will be love.
