Balance is Good! ~ April 2

Balance is Good!

Unless you’re balancing good with bad

Immediately the father of the child cried out with tears, “I believe. Help my unbelief!” Mark 9:24

There’s a saying; you can’t have your cake and eat it too, which can be said to mean you can’t have it both ways. The point being, if you eat the cake, you no longer have it.

When it comes to having faith, I think we can have it both ways. In fact, if we have faith and don’t use it, what good is it? And, the other difference is, faith cannot be used up; it’s inexhaustible.

But too many times we say we have faith in God, but we also have doubt. We proclaim our faith, saying we trust Him in all things, but then we hedge our bet because of our doubt He truly will see us through difficult situations.

A good example, and one of my pet peeves, is insurance. If we truly trusted God, would we need insurance? Now, I’m getting silly, right? Maybe, but it does illustrate my point.

We can’t balance belief and unbelief, but we can continue to seek God and His wisdom, and He can help us conquer our unbelief. We’re only human, and it’s natural for us to doubt, but God can help us overcome the doubt. He made the cake, wants us to eat it, and wants us to know there’s plenty more where it came from.

What a very thought provoking post. Always nice to sit and ponder of our faith is genuine.
