Which Way Are You Headed? ~ April 25

Which Way Are You Headed?

It’s up to you

And the ransomed of the Lord will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.  Isaiah 35:10

When God chose us and made us a part of His plan, He paid a ransom so we might return to Him from the clutches of the sinful world that had held us captive. He paid a hefty price; the death of Jesus upon the cross.

But even after He paid the ransom allowing us to return to Him, He made no demands on how, or when, our return should occur. We can choose to remain captive to our sin if we prefer. God doesn’t make up our mind for us; He allows us the freedom to choose.

If we make the choice to return to God and to return His love, everlasting joy is ours for the taking as well. When we can truly return and rest in the loving arms of our Lord, we will feel the release of sorrows and sighing, and a sense of overwhelming joy will dwell within us. And as we come nearer to God and begin to understand the depth and unchangeable essence of his love, our hearts and souls will sing and our countenances will glow with peace and joy.

The ransom is paid. If you are not on your way yet, turn around and come home.
