Laws? ~ April 29

We don’t need no laws!

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing? Galatians 2:21

God is no longer a God of rules and regulations, He is a God of grace and love. In the days before Jesus, salvation was something one had to earn by living a godly life. When Jesus died for our sins, salvation was provided to us by grace. It is a gift, and when we accept it, we live a godly life as a result of it. We will obey God’s commands because, by grace, it is in our hearts and nature to do so, not because we must do so to please Him.

It seems to me Christ died to make it simple for us. Man couldn’t seem to obey the rules of his own accord, so God gave us a way which made it easier to do. Instead of us having to constantly try to obey all the rules, He now allows that when we simply obey the greatest command—love Him–He’ll make the rest of them automatic. And if we mess up now and then, He’ll forgive us all over again.

It really is simple. Love God. The more you love Him, the more you will realize that’s all He truly wants. And as you begin to realize that’s all He really wants, you will find yourself living a life that pleases Him.

  1. a continual struggle…to live a life that pleases Him..
so grateful for His grace…and mercy..

    • Yes, a struggle, but His peace and joy begin to outweigh the bad stuff when we focus on Him.
