When We Have Nothing ~ May 13

When We Have Nothing

We have everything

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.  Ephesians 1:7

It all comes down to grace, the ultimate in the aspect of God working through us, rather than us working for God. But what are the “riches” of God’s grace? My simple answer to that question is to ask, what is more valuable than the free gift of God’s grace?

Is there anything you hold dearer than the love of God? Are there things you value more than His love and mercy?

I can’t think of anything more important than God’s love and forgiveness; nothing even comes close. Why then, do we strive for anything else? Why is anything important, other than giving our lives to God to do with as He pleases?

I have no good answer—I have no answer—other than to say, “Do with me as you will, Lord.”

I have no redemption, except the redemption He has given me. I have no forgiveness, except the forgiveness He has given me. I have all this and more, simply (how I love that word) because of the richness of His grace.
