Didn’t We Do This Yesterday? ~ July 2

Didn’t We Do This Yesterday?

Things seem awfully familiar

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s son, will be with us in truth and love. 2John 1:3

I sometimes feel like I’m in a rut; my life becomes so steeped in routine that each morning when I swing my feet to the floor to start another day I feel like the Bill Murray character in the movie, Groundhog Day. Sometimes, it feels like I’m in a bobsled race, tucked into the sled—my life—speeding around the same course day after day; every turn familiar; every straightaway zipping by too quickly.

But I’m learning to remind myself each morning that God is with me in truth and love, and His grace, mercy and peace are mine for the asking. I try to look at each day as a new day—one that holds endless possibilities—and go into it excited about what might be ahead, and expecting what Mom likes to refer to as suddenlys; blessings that come upon us from seemingly out of the blue.

So if you got up this morning, feeling like you were getting into the same old sled and embarking on the same old ride, change things up a bit. Slow down and watch for sudden blessings. You never know what’s around the next curve.
