Walk, Don’t Run?
But if anyone obeys his word, God’s love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him. Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did. 1John 2:5-6
I look forward to the day when God’s love is complete in me. As of now, I feel I’ve only had a taste of it, and even that small portion sometimes overwhelms me. God’s love is so large and so complete, and yet I sometimes feel as though I’ve had a mere brush of His hand across my cheek.
It’s been said we only use a small portion of the abilities of our brain, and I think that’s probably true of our hearts, as well. I believe we’re capable of much greater achievements with our minds; and, likewise, I believe we are capable of absorbing and giving much more love than we can imagine.
And God’s love, I believe is far beyond any feeling we’ve ever known. If we have but one blessing—one hope—it’s that we will one day know God’s perfect and awesome love. My eyes, my mind, and my heart are open wide as I run toward it.
