It’s Not A Matter of Winning ~ July 26

It’s Not A Matter of Winning

It’s about how big the celebration will be

We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Psalm 33:20-21

God is our hope; He is our everything. When we begin to feel as though our power is of our own making, that is when we will fail. Confidence in our abilities is one thing—a good thing—but faith in them is an entirely different matter. Without God, we are defenseless and like ducks in a shooting gallery, floating on rails for Satan to pick off one by one.

But with God, we can rejoice and strain forward, confident and sure we can do anything. With Him as our guide and protector, we are invincible. But there is one catch to invincibility; we must humble ourselves before Him before we can claim His help and His shield. More than that, we must love Him. The mere sound of His name and the thought of Him should cause us to swoon, and make our hearts rejoice.

And when the battles come, we won’t tremble and worry about the outcome. We will wait in hope for the Lord, knowing it’s not a matter of winning or losing, but how great our victory will be.

May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you. Psalm 33:22

    • Hey! Thanks, Brian! I appreciate you stopping by! Everything is fine, we’re just busy jumping through hoops trying to get a house bought. We’re scheduled to close the sale on Wednesday, 7/31, then we’ll be busy moving, and that’s not even the half of it. We have so much going on through the rest of 2013, it makes my old head spin.
I’ll try to get something ready for Tuesday’s Open Link, but y’all probably won’t see much of your favorite redneck for a bit. I will return though!
