You’re in Good Hands

And I’m not talking about insurance

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked. Proverbs 3:25

Hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods are a few of the disasters we’re familiar with here in central and south central Texas, and I’ve seen firsthand the destruction caused by all three. But in most cases, especially in this day of instant communication, none of those three are truly “sudden”. A hurricane usually takes days to reach the Texas coast; a thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is normally tracked with some degree of accuracy; and floods can usually be predicted.

In most cases it’s not the storm itself we’re afraid of, but of the change it might bring. The results of a huge storm can cause loss of life, injury, and loss or serious damage to property.

When we love God, we can prepare for the worst, while hoping for the best. If the worst happens—we’re killed by the disaster—we will spend eternity with the Lord. If we’re injured, we can go on, knowing God will heal us; and if our property is damaged, we can repair or re-build it and go on with our lives. In any of these cases, we can survive the storm.

Don’t be afraid of storms. We’ve got the best insurance money can’t buy; We’re in good hands with All Mighty God.
