Foobaw 2013 ~ The Drive!

My son Bill, his wife, Meegan, and my two grandsons, Trevor and Nathan live in the beautiful little town of Cashmere, Washington. And, since we live a couple thousand miles away, in Trinity, Texas, we don’t get to see them very often. In fact, it’s been two years since we’ve been to visit. The last trip was for the primary purpose of watching Trevor play football—he was a senior—and this year we’re on our way to watch another football game, but this time, Nathan is a senior.

Anyhow, I posted daily updates about our trip last time, and I’m going to repeat the process on this trip. The big difference is we’re doing a driving vacation this time, so we can see some sights along the way.

The trip begins!

The trip begins!

We’re in Abilene, Texas this morning, and for all intents and purposes, the trip is about to begin. We drove here after Sherry got off work last night, just to get a little head start on the trip.

We’re headed west this morning and plan to stop and smell the roses sagebrush as we make our way across west Texas and eastern New Mexico. We’ll spend the night in Albuquerque. I lived there for a while in the mid-eighties, but Sherry’s never been there.

So here we go, and I hope to post an update each day along the trip. That way, y’all can kinda ride along with us on what we’re calling “Foobaw 2013 ~ The Drive!”

The stories about the trip two years ago were titled “Foobaw, Daddy!”, and you can read them by clicking on the title.
