I’m Not There Yet ~ September 16

I’m Not There Yet

But I’m getting closer!

Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. Romans 5:3-4

Faith is the conscious decision to never give up no matter what challenges come. When we have faith, we determine to stay the course and finish the race, knowing it will all work to our good in the end if we keep our eyes on God. Eternal life with Him is the prize, and not finishing, is not an option.

I haven’t mastered the “rejoice in our sufferings” aspect of God yet, but I’m getting closer all the time. I have to admit, too, I don’t suffer much, God takes pretty good care of me. I’m very blessed in so many ways, and it seems I’m seldom lacking anything. Let me rephrase that: God takes excellent care of me!

I’m learning (slowly) to be more patient—to persevere—and allow God to take care of things. (I’m not there yet, but I’m getting closer!) That’s not to say we can sit back, not doing our best in a given situation, but, we can maintain our peace and confidence while in the midst of whatever storm we might find ourselves. When we truly grasp the fact God is with us and will see us through every situation, our character and hope will grow stronger, and we will rejoice as we go through life’s trials and troubles.

Persevere! God’s got your back!
