He’ll Come Around ~ September 21

He’ll Come Around

He’s one of mine

For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life. Romans 5:10

When I was a child, I knew nothing of God, but as I moved into my latter childhood, I was taken to Sunday school and church where I learned about Him. When I was ten years old, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and continued to learn. I wasn’t a great Christian or even a good person, I was just a kid. Then, as I moved into my teen years, God became less and less important to me. I stopped going to church and started living a life of sin. I think maybe that’s when I became God’s enemy.

The key point in my story—a point-of-no-return—is when I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. At that moment, God knew I would wander away from Him, and He had already made provision to reconcile me to Him. He had already paid the price and laid the plans for my life.

I sometimes imagine God and Jesus watched me with their heads shaking through much of my life. I can imagine many times, God looking over at Jesus and asking, “Are you sure about this one?”, and Jesus replying, “Yes, Father. He’ll come around. He’s one of mine.”

Thank you, Jesus.
