What Do I Do Now? ~ September 22

What Do I Do Now?

Just receive!

Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Romans 5:11

The key word in today’s verse is “received”. We cannot earn reconciliation or salvation, all we can do is receive them. I believe this to be one of the most important principles of Christianity: we cannot do our way into God’s grace; we can only accept His invitation.

I’ve seen many a new Christian with a blank look upon their face that asks the question: “What do I do now?” My answer is to thank God, seek Him, receive His love, and watch as your love grows for Him with every new revelation He presents to you. And the amazing thing is, the more we seek Him, the more peace and joy He gives to us.

It’s a wonderful whirling circle of giving and receiving. God loves us; we receive His love. We return His love; He receives our love. He loves us more; we love Him more, and it just keeps growing and getting better all the time. You’ve heard the saying, “It’s better to give than to receive.” When it comes to God’s love and our love for Him, that’s definitely the case, but receiving is important, too. We must first receive His love before we can give it back to Him and share it with others.

Receive His love!
