Take It, Or Leave It ~ October 12

Take It, Or Leave It

It’s your choice

But the fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23

By worrying and fighting against the principalities of this earth, are we refusing the gift of peace God has given us? Are we then denying that gift—the peace that can only originate from God—to those around us? How can we encourage others to accept God’s love and be filled with His joy and peace, if we appear to be struggling with our own demons?

I rely heavily on what Paul says in Philippians 3:13 (simply said, I’m not there yet), but while I admit I am not there yet, I must say that’s no excuse for my lack of peace. It seems to me, if I continue to hold onto my imperfection as though it is a badge of honor, I prevent myself from grabbing onto the awesomeness of God’s complete blessing. By claiming to be imperfect, I deny myself peace; I turn it down, so to speak.

Each day when we awake, God places His perfect peace before us. It is up to us to take it or leave it. He gives us the gift of peace. Will you have it?
