Laughter Is Good Medicine! ~ October 31

Laughter Is Good Medicine!

And I like it!

And a time to laugh. Ecclesiastes 3:4

A day without laughter is a day without sunshine, is one of my favorite sayings. Laughter is an expression of joy, and a day without joy is definitely a day without sunshine.

I was one of the class clowns when I was in high school, and making people laugh was—still is—one of my most favorite things Making people laugh is my sunshine, and I’m most healthy when I have a daily—even many times daily—dose of it. Which reminds me of another of my favorite sayings: Laughter is the best medicine.

Laughter equates with joy, and joy is one of the things we receive with God’s grace. Joy is a gift from God, and I believe laughter is one of His gifts to us as well.

I’m not one to quote from “studies”, but this one makes perfect sense to me: A Stanford Medical School study found after a good laugh, blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle tension subside, leaving you in a relaxed state.

You see, laughter is good medicine!

God gave us laughter, and I like it!
