Home Is Where the Heart Is ~ November 19

Home Is Where the Heart Is

I’m home

So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him? Ecclesiastes 3:22

As I finished reading the third chapter of Ecclesiastes, I was reminded of one of my favorite verses, Philippians 4:11. It says, “I am not saying this because I am in need, because I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.”

In simple terms, this means we should enjoy our lives no matter what circumstances we find ourselves in. It also means we should, if possible, work at something that brings us happiness. In my case, it is the writing of these encouragements. I cannot describe how much joy writing and sharing my simple thoughts brings me. To know someone—anyone—is encouraged by the words I write, is an awesome blessing to me.

Yes, “There is a time for everything, and a season for everything under heaven.” But as they say, “All roads lead home,” and “Home is where the heart is.” My heart is with God, and my home with Him awaits me. Every day I live, everything I do, is a step along my journey home. I will encounter good things, and I will encounter bad things, but my destination will not change.
