I Got the Job! ~ December 5

I Got the Job!

And I didn’t even apply for it!

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me faithful, appointing me to his service. 1Timothy 1:12

I didn’t apply for the job; and so I must assume, I was appointed. I don’t profess to know all there is to know about God or His word, and I hope no one construes my purpose with these writings to be that of teaching. They are, simply, what I prefer to call them: encouragements. My intention—I believe God’s intention—is that my words encourage you to focus on Him and strive to understand Him better. I don’t intend to change how you believe or think; I merely hope to encourage you to do both of those things with relation to God.

I have been a leader most of my life, but with these words I write, there is no intent to lead. I do not consider myself a leader when it comes to God, but a servant; and not just a servant to Him, but to you. My job these days is not to lead you to God, but to tell you about Him, and then let you and Him work out the details of your personal relationship.

I am honored to be in the service of God and everyone He allows me to speak to via these simple writings. I thank Him for considering me faithful and for the strength He gives to me.
