I Love It! ~ December 7

I Love It!

When a plan comes together!

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. 1Timothy 1:14

Grace, as Paul uses it in this verse, is synonymous with forgiveness, and I believe it implies much more than forgiveness, but in the abundance spoken of here, I believe it is more about forgiveness than anything else it might include. The abundance Paul refers to was necessary due to the amount of bad he had previously done, and, as I said yesterday, I can certainly relate to that. God is still pouring out His grace on me!

I also think there might be a message in the fact Paul does not use the word abundantly with regard to faith and love. I think the reason he doesn’t is because when it comes to faith and love, God gives us the full measure of both. I firmly believe He does not give us partial love—not ever—and when we accept His full portion of love, how can our faith not be as complete? In other words, once we understand God’s love for us is unconditional, our faith in Him will be unconditional, too.

I love it when a plan comes together!
