Like a Snowball Rolling Downhill ~ December 19

Like a Snowball Rolling Downhill

It just keeps getting bigger!

Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you. Psalm 84:5

The more we understand God, and the more we realize how unconditional and immense His love for us is, the more we will want to be near Him. As we learn more and are drawn nearer to Him, we begin to praise Him more, until at some point our every thought and word will contain praise and thanks for what the Lord is doing in our lives. Loving God is often like a snowball rolling down a hill; it just keeps getting bigger. The best part is, the hill seems to have no bottom, and the growing never stops.

Praising God can be difficult when things aren’t going the way we think they should, but this is too often because we are looking at what we want, instead of what God has planned for us. Our want and God’s plan are too often entirely different things.

This world is God’s house, and we should thank Him for inviting us over and ask what we can do to assist Him. Being the excellent host I know He is, He will surely say, “Just relax and make yourself at home. I’ve got everything under control.”
