If You’re Feeling Down ~ December 21

If You’re Feeling Down

Go play in the rain

As they pass through the Valley of Baca, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools. Psalm 84:6

Though it seems this verse has been dissected by many and interpreted in various ways, I see it as simply saying God will provide. I see the valley as a dry and barren place we must sometimes pass through, and we can do so, knowing God will provide water to quench our thirst. He will provide for our every need in all situations we might encounter.

God will never let us down. He gives us strength, and always provides us physical and spiritual sustenance when it is needed.

Rain is often used to illustrate things in the Bible. In our world, rain can be a good thing, and sometimes bad thing. In the overall scheme of things, rain is a necessity, and it’s needed to fill our lakes and rivers and wells, because water is essential to our survival on earth. In the Bible, rain is most often a good thing used to make our world beautiful; a barren valley can be transformed into an oasis when God pours His rain showers of blessings upon it.
