Wow!
I can’t say it enough
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. Psalm 84:11
The sun is a life-giving source of energy. It gives us light and warmth, helps crops grow, and is an absolute necessity in our temporal world. God is our spiritual sun, and without His life giving light and the warmth of His unconditional love, we would have nothing, and could not survive the world we live in.
God is our shield—our protection. He keeps all manner of harm from coming upon us, and when evil does catch us unaware, He’s there to pluck us from its clutches. He will never let us down.
Amazingly, He bestows honor and favor on us. Sometimes, I just have to say, “Wow!” He is the Almighty God of the universe, and He bestows honor and favor on a guy like me. It simply drives me to my knees.
Here’s the closer: “no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
Blameless? Me? Not likely. Yet, Jesus has made me blameless in our Father’s eyes. Again I say, “Wow!” Thus, every good thing is available to me, and what must I do to have those things?
Love Him and allow His love to live in me and cause me to be the person He needs me to be. That’s all. One more time: “Wow!”
