Fall On Your Knees
Oh, hear the angel voices
This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Luke 2:12
I can’t imagine being there when Jesus was born, knowing this was the Son of God. The song, O Holy Night, comes to my mind as I envision the child lying in the manger wrapped in rags. Was He looking around at those staring down at him? Were His eyes wide with astonishment and wonder at this place and these people? Or, did He know even then, who He was, and what he’d been sent by His Father to do?
As I contemplate these things, the words of the song come loud—Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices! O night divine, the night when Christ was born—and I am compelled to fall on my knees and praise His holy name. I am overcome with a sense of awe and wonder that He came to save me and you. And He came because our heavenly father loves us with an unconditional love we cannot begin to fathom or understand.
The baby in the manger knew the depth and wonder of God’s love. Think of the child on a bed of straw. Behold your King! For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Merry Christmas!
