I’m Gonna Be Okay! ~ December 28

I’m Gonna Be Okay!

How about you?

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4

Endurance: The ability to withstand hardship, adversity, or stress. So says Mr. Webster, but I think Paul is equating endurance to patience. And, I love that he says we should add encouragement of the Scriptures so we might have hope.

My job these days is encouraging others, but, quite often, I encourage myself as much or more as anyone else. As I write about the Bible, I learn about God, and it encourages me tremendously. I’ve gotten to the point when things aren’t going right, or I’m troubled about something, I know if I go to work and write encouragements, things will get better. Note, I did not say things will seem better, I said they will get better. I have found I cannot sit at this desk and write about God’s love without being encouraged.

Earlier today, I was feeling a bit discouraged. But now, as a result of the things God has shown me in these verses about patience, my hope is increased, and I feel much better about things. I’m still a bit impatient (okay, I’m still a lot impatient), but my hope is much stronger.

I’m gonna be okay! How about you?
