Is The Weight of the World on Your Shoulders? ~ January 3

Is The Weight of the World on Your Shoulders?

Shrug it off

He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 23:3

When we focus on things of the world, our souls become weak, our faith wanes, and peace is hard to find. When we turn our attention to the Lord, He restores our soul and guides us to green pastures and still waters.

Peace is available to us at all times if we will but have it, and all we have to do to have peace is trust God—have faith. Peace, as I’ve said, is the key that unlocks the door to joy, and faith is the vehicle that will deliver you to the door.

I envision the hands of God upon our shoulders, lovingly guiding us toward peace and righteousness. He doesn’t force us to go, but guides us, knowing we will not be disappointed with the things He has in store for us.

Unfortunately, we tend to think we know a better way—a better place to be—and tend to follow the bright and promising signs Satan constantly tempts us with. We are ever seeking that next “thing” the world tells us is the thing we need and must have.

When you fell the weight of the world on your shoulders, shrug it off and turn your eyes toward Jesus. He took all our burdens on the cross.

  1. This really hits home today thank you Charles.

Sometimes it is hard for me to remember that Jesus can take that weight from me while I am in in the midst of a situation. Thank you, Charlie, for this reminder this morning. Jesus has my back always, and it will all be okay.
