Trust me! ~ January 24

Trust me!

It’ll all turn out the way it should

There are many plans in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. Proverbs 19:21

We all want to have worth, and inherently, we want to believe our existence—our time on this earth—has meaning. Too many times, we look back at our lives and see nothing of value, and too often focus on the mistakes and bad things we’ve done. This is something I think the Lord will change in us when we focus on Him. He will cause us to know that everything has a purpose, and though our contributions may seem small in our eyes—and the eyes of the world—they are important in God’s eyes.

We might not be famous, and most of us won’t be in the headlines, or on the evening news, but we may be the one to encourage someone who will do great things. I hear and read stories all the time about people who were discouraged and defeated, then a small kindness or helping hand gave them new hope and they went on to accomplish their dreams.

I have jokingly stated that as a writer I will probably get famous after I die, and, who knows, maybe it’s true. But, I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content, and I am content, knowing these encouragements I share are a blessing to someone each day.

Sharing this encouragement with Kellie Elmore and her followers on Kellie’s Free Write Friday feature. Kellie has a brand new book out! Be sure and check it out! CANDY FROM STRANGERS

It is so hard to trust that God gives you what is best. And what could be better than a fulfilled life in which you help others to achieve the best that they can do.

    • I truly can think of nothing more rewarding than to help others to achieve their best, to know God loves them, and to help them find God’s grace and peace for their lives.
Thank you for the blessing of your comment, Colline!

  4. I wish I were able to put into words how much I needed this. Haven’t been able to put much of anything into words lately. 😦 Thank you for being here…for being you… for your kindness and inspiration. ♥

    • Kelly, my girl, I don’t know what you’re going through, but I can say without reservation, I’ve probably been there/done that. But, know this; you are an extremely talented person, and I can see in the things you write, that the places you’ve been and the battles you’ve fought are the source of your powerful writing. I think what you need is a big ol’ hug, but I’m glad you find comfort and encouragement in the simple words I offer to you and anyone that might need them. Some words for you today: Never give up, but learn to be content with where you are each day. And, know this, everything’s gonna be alright. Love ya, kiddo!
