It’s A Beautiful World ~ January 27

It’s A Beautiful World

When we focus on the good stuff

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Philippians 4:8

And when we focus on God, we will see the good stuff, and even see more good in the not-so-good stuff.

I started this year’s encouragements based on Psalms 23:1, which is a short and simple truth; The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. It and Philippians 4:11, in which Paul states, Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, to be content, are very important to us if we desire to have peace within our souls.

I’ve long held the opinion that the key to peace is to not want anything—to be content—but I’m thinking that theory doesn’t apply to spiritual things. We should desire peace, and all good things God has for us. We should focus on God and His goodness, praising Him and thanking Him for them. When we set our sights on what is true, honest, and just, there we will find God, and when our desire is to gain the pure, and lovely things of God, He will deliver them to us, and in them we will find peace.

Focus on the good stuff!

This is a meditation in itself…you have a gift for delivering the bottom line, Charles.

Beautiful way to start this day…thank you.

    • Thank you, Hannah! Your encouraging comment starts my day out beautifully, too!
