It’s All Good! ~ February 6

It’s All Good!

Or bad

If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1

The saying, it’s all good, can be taken in a positive way, in the sense we know God is in charge and all things will work out in the long run. I’ve written often about trusting Him in the good times and the bad, knowing He will never leave us or forsake us.

But all things are not good, in the sense that we can sin without consequences. I don’t believe God punishes us for our sins, but, rather, the results of our sins are our punishment. In most cases, when we do something wrong, or bad, we sooner or later suffer as a result of our actions.

I also ponder the statement, it’s all good, from another viewpoint; if everything were good, there would be no bad, and thus, there would be no good. It would all be neutral.

Unfortunately, it’s not all good, and bad seems to be running rampant. In fact, it seems bad has become not only acceptable, but a desirable badge of honor. We defend bad behavior, and condemn good.

The good news is, we can turn this ship around. It’s a big boat, and it’ll take some time, but if we focus on God and His goodness, He will cause us to  do the right and good things, and eventually good will overcome bad. I am convinced that one day, it will all be good!

  1. I echo your hopeful closing, Charles. Great scripture choice to support this post…the remedy in a sense. Thank you! 🙂

    • Thank you, Hannah! It’s interesting you see the scrture as supporting the post. Normally, I pick a scripture then write about it, but there was a spread of several days where I was inspired to write then had to search for scripture to support what I’d written. This was one of them.
