We’re Either In ~ February 15

We’re Either In

Or we’re not

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! Revelation 3:15

There is no almost when it comes to believing Jesus is the son of God. We either believe, or we don’t.

In a poker game, we can place our bet and hope our cards are better than the other players’ cards. We can’t hold our cards to our chest, keep our money in front of us, and tell the other players we want to see how good their hands are before we decide what to do. We’re either in, or we’re not.

The same goes in the game of life; we might attempt to “walk the fence” not committing to either side of the issues of the day, but in the end a choice must be made. Margaret Thatcher once said, “Standing in the middle of the road is very dangerous; you get knocked down by the traffic from both sides.” A good analogy, because if we’re for or against something, we will only have to contend with the opposition; if we try to be neutral, we could wind up being at odds with both sides.

The truth is we often try to walk the white line when it comes to Jesus, attempting to balance our lives between Him and the world. I can vouch for the fact it doesn’t work. When it comes to Jesus, we’re either in, or we’re not.
