I Might Get Shaken
But I won’t be taken!
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. John 10:10
The thief has come for me on many occasions throughout my years, but God refused to let him take me. My faith had been shaken so hard, and so often, I felt like I was living on the San Andreas Fault. So, I moved.
I still experience some mild tremblers now and then, but they don’t last long, and are more irritating than threatening. I more and more realize how permanent God’s love is, and my faith grows stronger. The shaking merely keeps me on my toes, and generally leads me to even more understanding of God’s unconditional love for His children.
There was a time, not that long ago, when the pressures of life could cause me to give up on God and allow myself to be swept into the title wave of dying humanity that rages around us daily. But somewhere in the recent past He pulled me to the peaceful shore for the last time.
I might get shaken—we all do—but I won’t be taken. And that’s a fact!
